AQHA’s state, provincal and international affiliates are working together to promote the American Quarter Horse by sharing ideas and planning activities. By becoming  a member of the Connecticut Quarter Horse Association, you will have access to outstanding awards recognition, show programs, and leadership opportunities.

About us

The Connecticut Quarter Horse Association is a non-profit organization  of people and businesses engaged in the activity of aiding and encouraging quality breeding, level exhibiting of all levels, promoting, guiding and encouraging sponsored AQHA shows.

All shows are open to any AQHA member showing registered quarter horses; CQHA members also earning state points towards outstanding year end awards. Here are just a few of the benefits that come along with becoming a CQHA member:

Officers & Directors

CQHA Officers are elected by the general membership during the Annual General Membership & Elections Meeting to serve a two year term. Directors serve a three year term.

Your CQHA Officers and Directors invite you to take part in all CQHA Activities. We welcome your input. We all look forward to meeting you at CQHA Events and Shows.

Did You Know?

The Annual General Membership Meeting held in September is also the Election of incoming Officers and Directors. This is why it is so important that members participate.

To qualify for ALL AROUND year end awards the exhibitor must compete in a minimum of three AQHA categories.

If you are exhibiting a LEASED HORSE, you must make it known to the CQHA Points Chairman prior to exhibiting in order for the points to count for you. This info should also be added on your membership form when you complete it.

CQHA Points begin once membership is paid and recieved. This can be check or Paypal.

Walk Trot Exhibitors do not need to own the horse they are competing on.
